Idris Elba’s wife tests positive for coronavirus after actor diagnosed

Days after Idris Elba revealed his coronavirus diagnosis, the British actor’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre, has also tested positive.
The 29-year-old Dhowre told Oprah Winfrey in an interview posted on Apple TV+ Sunday morning that she was “not surprised” that she too had gotten infected.
“As soon as I heard that Idris was potentially exposed. I was on my way anyway and I wanted to be with him, I think that’s an instinct as a wife you just want to go and take care,” she told Winfrey on “Oprah Talks.”
“We didn’t change the way we interacted. I could have made a decision to put myself in a separate room or maybe stay away and I’m sure people are making those decisions, they’re tough decisions to make. But I made the decision to want to be with him and still touch him.”
Elba, 47, announced last week that he had tested positive. The “Luther” star didn’t say where he thinks he came into contact with an infected person, but he did attend WE Day 2020 in London a week earlier. Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has also tested positive, was also in attendance.
Elba and Dhowre said neither of them are showing any symptoms.
“I don’t feel anything that would come to what people would now expect to be a symptom of coronavirus, which is really strange,” Dhowre told Winfrey. “It might change in the coming weeks, and we’ll keep everyone updated.”
