St Lucia: Police Hunt Four Men Who Escaped State COVID-19 Quarantine

Saint Lucia police are on the hunt for four young men who escaped from a state COVID-19 quarantine facility in Castries Friday.
A senior law enforcement official told St Lucia Times that the men were held earlier in the day after entering the country illegally from neighbouring Martinique.
Deputy Police Commissioner, Milton Desir, told a news conference Friday that in two separate joint operations, the Marine Unit and Territorial police intercepted two vessels arriving from the French overseas territory.
“Those vessels, the persons in each instance, we had four persons on board – those persons were arrested,” Desir disclosed.
He told the news conference that the police impounded the vessels.
According to police, the four men who escaped the quarantine facility Friday are all in their twenties.
Law enforcement officials say two of the escapees are residents of Barnard Hill, Castries, while the others reside at Hospital Road, Castries and La Pointe, Dennery.
